Perfect exists. It just doesn’t happen very often. For Vordonia Athenolia Extra Virgin Olive Oil, several crucial elements had to fall together: tree, soil, climate, history, location, the hand of man, meticulous care, and, with real luck, a family commitment deeply rooted in history.
The Sideris family has all those things and we want to share them with you. Our family has deep roots in Vordonia, but connected to our Spartan ancestors by 4,000 years in a nearly perfect hillside that was chosen centuries ago for our Athenolia olive groves.
Our Family Matters, starting with my father Theodore, believing in The Purest of the Pure, and my mother Angeliki, whose wonderful cooking and unwavering determination to help oversee each year’s harvest, motivates us all year after year ( at 73 she is unstoppable ). My brothers George and Panagioti who are always encouraging and supporting me any way I might ask. As a family we are all committed to our Athenolia olive fields knowing our children ( Gianna, Georgia, Theodora, Teddy, Michael, Angela and Nicky) one day soon will see what all the stories and hard work are all about.
Perfect doesn’t happen by accident – a Magic Terroir, a lingering mouth feel, and enough life that filled too full, the bottles will “blow their corks.” In the World of Oil, nothing tastes like our oil. It has over eight year’s shelf life without loss of flavor or aroma. This oil will change your extra virgin olive oil experience altogether. As with fine wine, once your taste buds become used to the pure, clean flavor of a flawless extra virgin olive oil, you will begin to realize what you’ve been missing.
Our family standards will speak for us. But, most of all, the flavor, color, fresh aroma and longevity will win you over --- Vordonia Athenolia Extra Virgin Olive Oil brings you, the purest of the pure, flawless. Once you’ve tasted Vordonia Athenolia Extra-Virgin Olive Oil, you will have tasted olive oil for the first time in your life.
Join us in this wonderful experience of single cultivar nectar and the exquisite oil’s “The Naked Taste of Olives”
